Grade 9 science fair project – "The Science of reactive baking plant"

The purpose of this Science Fair project is to show how the plant reacts with yeast in some foods. For example, yeast is used to raise bread. Yeast is a single plant, which is a type of fungus. Yeast is not a production of food, because they contain chlorophyll, green plants characteristics. The yeast cells modify some food into alcohol and carbon dioxide when they breathe. Carbon dioxide is the cause bread dough to rise. Science Fair This project alsoinvolves the construction of a new invention, the rate of reaction of yeast and sugar solution is measured.

Hypothesis

Muffin

Yeast reacts at a faster pace with some types of food.

Project No 1:

Step# 1:
Start by adding a culture of yeast. Add a tablespoon of dry yeast
a cup of hot water. Stir the mixture until all the yeast has dissolved. Pour a spoonful of this solution into each of 12 muffin cups in the pan.

Step 2:
Create a note card chart so that you can keep track of food
It takes place in each box muffin. Do not put the canned food muffin before, so it can act in this experiment, such as controlling the "group"See the list of food additives in the samples of material. Place 1 / 4 teaspoon of flour into the cup second. Place 1 / 4 teaspoon of sugar in the table in the third cup. Repeat this process for the rest of the samples of living in the Materials section.

Step 3:
Place the muffin pan in oven at 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
Check the muffin pan in three minutes. Record samples of food created by bubbles of carbon dioxide from the reactionYeast. What food samples reacted immediately and who does not? Record your results.

Step # 4:
Place the muffin tray in the oven and check again after another five
Minutes. Record your results.

Project No 2:

Step # 1:
Almost completely fill the tube with a tablespoon of yeast
and three tablespoons sugar in a cup of hot water. Insert the tubing through the stopper. Put the cap on the tube.

Step# 2:
First, the glass of water at high filled with cold water at 35 degrees
Fahrenheit. This temperature must be maintained. You can add water and ice to cool it. You can change the temperature with a cooking thermometer. The tube in a glass of high water. Place the other end of the hose into the empty cup. Please allow 5 minutes.

Step 3:
Fill the graduated cylinder with water and turn it into
the glass.Make sure the open end of the graduated cylinder cover of the small tube.

Step # 4:
Carbon dioxide is created in test tubes are. This carbon
Carbon dioxide dissolves the 'water in the graduated cylinder. Record the amount of gas produced every 30 seconds to 15 minutes. Try this experiment at different temperatures in the high-water class.

Summary of results:
Create a diagram that shows the reaction rates for different foods. It will be aThe graph represents the amount of time compared to the volume of carbon dioxide created show.
